Die Napoleonische Armee
After
Napoleon had come back from Elba, the army he raised was furnished
with new flags which were in some points different from the patterns
flewn in former years and generally of a more simple production.
Flagstaves were painted dark blue, cords and tassels golden.

British Army
Each
regiment flew 1 Union Jack with regimental cyphers ("King´s
Colour") and 1 Regimental Colour, generally in the basic colour
of the regiment´s facings. The Foot Guards colours followed
own rules, each company had one of its own and they were carried
in rotation.
The ensign with the King´s Colour had
his place right beneath the Regimental Colour. Sergeants with pikes
protected the flags.
Cords and tassels were mixed golden and red, the staves brown or blackened.
