To be able to use more appropriate flags with 1/72 English Civil War Figures (in this case 1/72 A CALL TO ARMS ECW command set), some conversions are inevitable. Indeed this work is not complicated, as you will see.
1/72 HOUSE OF CAMPAIGN No. 62: English Civil War Command Set.
This
sprue is enclosed 4x, so there is 4 Figures of each shown beyond,
enough to do some variations of 8 ensigns.
The Flag enclosed
with the figures is to small, as ECW flags for infantry were about
6 ft 6 in square.
4 Figures on each sprue can be taken as basics
for the colour-bearers, the others povide Hats or Heads needed to
exchange for variation desired.
The colour-bearers
outfit did not differ from the "uniform" of officers or
men.
ECW Army Infantry Flag-staffs were very short. The flags
were made of extremely light material and easy to handle.

Der 4x enthaltene Gußast. Einige der Typen lassen sich leicht
zu Fahnenträgern umbauen.
Fahnenträger hatten weder
besondere Abzeichen noch unterschieden sie sich in der Kleidung
von Mannschaften oder Offizieren.
Beachte: Die Stange der Fahnen waren
nur etwas länger als das Fahnentuch, nicht so lang daß
sie auf dem Boden aufgesetzt wurde.
Vielmehr stützte man
die Stange auf der Hüfte ab, wenn die Fahne nicht geschwungen
wurde. Das Fahnentuch war aus so leichtem Material, daß die
Fahne gut mit einer Hand gehalten werden konnte.
Oben:
Ganz
links Nr. 3 erhält einen anderen Kopf (Verbindung durch Drahtstift
im Kopf/Loch im Halsansatz am Rumpf).
Ganz rechts: Nr. 1 erhält
statt des Arms mit der Fahne den Schwertarm von Nr. 2. (Verbindung
wieder gestiftet).
Die Fahne soll Nr. 1 dann in der Faust der
linken Hand tragen.

Heads
are fixed with small pieces of iron needle. After heating needle
tip in a candle flame, it is easy to do any holes in the plastic
material or to fix the smal poles in head, body, arm etc.
Take
care not to heat the iron too much, otherwise it might melt your
plastic part istead of just doing the hole.
