When Russia entered
into the Napoleonic wars conflict, the
Russian Army flew a consideral number of different flag designs,
subtypes and variants of these. For example there were different
flag designs for line and guard infantry, then some regiments got
special flags as a rewards for good conduct in battle etc. When
new regulation patterns were introduced, Regiments often continued
to carry their older flags when these were in good condition. A great number of units
still carried the old 1797 pattern flags in 1813. More detailed informations
on Russian flags can be found in: ROFUR-FLAGS 1/72
Sheets covering Napoleonic Wars Russian Army Flags always comprehend
one "white" and one "coloured" flag for the
regiments considered.
