The bishop in the VALDEMAR set has a plain lance, as to be seen above.
We added a suitable ROFUR-FLAGS banner.

1/72 Bischöfe des 13. Jahrhunderts von VALDEMAR MINIATURES Plastikfiguren.
Das Set enthält je einmal die abgebildeten 3 Fußfiguren und den Reiter.

Im Mittelalter führten Bischöfe mit der Waffe in der Hand ihre Aufgebote selber ins Feld. Mit dem Set von VALDEMAR aus Dänemark, das ab Juni/Juli 2005 erhältlich sein soll, gibt es nun die Gelegenheit, auch einmal einen Bischof in das mittelalterliche Schlachtgetümmel im Diorama zu integrieren.

In der Praxis standen natürlich nicht 4 Bischöfe nebeneinander auf dem Streitplatz so wie hier auf den Bildern....

There is not much information available on the heraldry worn by bishops of the first half of 13th century.
From left to right: Bishop of Salzburg 1230 / Walter of Geroldseck, bishop of Straßburg 1262 / Hermann of Tartu, bishop of Riga, Estonia, about 1240. Estonia at that period was a state founded by Danish crusaders.

V.l.n.r.: Bischof von Salzburg, 1230 / Walter v. Geroldseck, Bischof von Straßburg 1262 / Hermann von Tartu, Bischof von Riga, Estland, etwa 1240. Estland war zu jener Zeit dänischer Kreuzfahrerstaat.

Unten: Der Reiter ist in Phantasie-Heraldik bemalt.

Der Bannerträger:

Das verwendete Banner stammt aus dem ROFUR-FLAGS Bogen Nr. 1/72-54a Heiligenbanner 13.-15.Jhdt.

The banner chosen is a typical oblong shaped of the first part of the 13th century. Banners showing pictures of various saints like St. George or The Holy Virgin were widespread among troops from early to late medieval period.

 Zum Ankleben wurde das Schutzpapier auf der Rückseite der Fahne belassen und ein Pritt Klebestift benutzt. Dadurch ist das genaue justieren des "Fahnentuchs" an der Lanze etwas einfacher.
